A Tiny Little Spark of Inspiration
Sometimes comes a spark of inspiration. A tiny little spark that gets the blood pumping and the brain gears cranking, a sentence or even just an idea about how to get over that blank page hurdle. It’s enough to make you roll out of bed and run to the computer, tapping your foot while the damn slow piece of crap loads up.
But then it fades away. Or you lose the proper wording during that five second journey. Or it just doesn’t look as good in black and white as it did in your head.
You delete the whole thing. You throw yourself into the chair. What is the point! You scream. Why do I do this to myself?
You think – Maybe I should just give it all up. Do what normal people do. Be content with a normal job, one that actually pays something. Be content with never creating content. Put down the pen for good.
And then you think – Fuck that.
But my point is this: A spark is just that – A spark. There are more elements than just ignition to begin the fires blazing. You also need heat and fuel and air. And the more you have, the bigger the flames.
And why am I making this point?
Because I just rolled out of bed.
