In the Sun I Feel As One…
I’ve uploaded a couple more things I like to refer to as “Art”… Not because I consider it art, mind you. It’s because I name everything I make Arthur.
All my Arthur is up over at RedBubble.com
So, Look and enjoy…

And Purchase… Not that I need moneys or anything. Wink.

Spankin’ the Monkey
With the move to Melbourne fast approaching… Much much too fast (Yet too slow), and with my place in urgent need of cleaning for a long time now I thought I should get some cleaning/throwing shit away. I finally got down too it yesterday. I set up a large sturdy bin bag (one that can “stand by itself” but not quite.) and a large garbage bin, and I start throwing shit away.
I’m quite a pack rat so there is a fair amount of junk to throw out. In my usual pack rat fashion there were a few things that made it through but fortunately not a great deal. I made some strict rules to stick by when sorting through things.
- if it’s in anyway broken – It goes
- If I haven’t used it or looked at it in five years – It goes
- If I were to show someone and they’d look at me like I was a crazy person for keeping it – It goes
- If in doubt throw it out
And the most important one -
The most important rules always rhyme.
It didn’t take me long before I was filling both bins.
But, as always happens when I sort through my shit personal belongings, I find quite a few things that I’d forgotten about or things that bring back old memories. I found notes (upon notes upon notes) of old stories that I’d forgotten all about – anything that looked important I scanned into the computer and then threw them out. I found old letters from a penpal, instructions for a homebuilt tattoo gun (which I also still have), I found floppy disks and old kinder surprise toys, lots of crap interesting stuff. I also found lots of old doodles I used to do at work. Including this little fella –

And suddenly my procrastination drive kicked in and I spent the afternoon turning it into this -

I call him Reginald.
While working on him I was considering what to do with him. One thing I always wanted to do was make a little logo thing-a-ma-jig with my initials to put at the bottom of my blog posts, not sure why – just cause. A little see-ya-later at the end of the post… And that’s exactly what I did with him. He’s made his way into the PHP code of my posts so I don’t do anything, he just pops up there. See? See him down there?
I also put him up in the Header Banner for now. So that would make this the most monkey-filled post you’ll see today.
Well, that’s it for now. I have to get back to cleaning and throwing things away.
So, Bye from me and from Reginald “Spanky” Monkey.

Curtis the Robot
Nanowrimo, the competition where people attempt to write 50,000 words of a novel over the course of November is on its way. Just over a week till it starts. I’ll be participating yet again, only this time I’ll be finishing.
With NaNoWriMo coming up so quickly, you’d think that I was getting all the planning out of the way…
nope.
Not an ounce of planning has taken place. A little bit of intention.. “I’ll do it tomorrow…” but no actual planning.
So what have I been up to instead?
Well… I’ve been drinking coffee, I’ve been working on a few new short stories. Editing some old ones. Got some great stuff done, I’m sure you’ll agree… One day…
And also I made This guy -

His name is Curtis. He’s a robot.
He’s also a shirt.
At first he was just going to be a funny little picture. I’d post it up here, or put it on my website banner (which it is at the moment.) but when he started turning out so well I started thinking of putting him on a shirt. I was just going to make a shirt for myself over at cafepress, but then I thought why the hell not paste it on whole bunch of junk and put it up for sale. I believe that’s how a lot of people start out selling stuff.
I have mine on order, due to arrive in a week or so. So if you want one, buy one. You can click here, or click on the tab up top there. If you don’t want one, Well why did you bother reading this much? Weirdo!
Anyway, I’m sure I’ll get on to that planning for Nano soon.
Get me a coffee.
This Post Has Been Zombiefied for Your Approval

What goes up must come down. This is basically what my last month has been like, since I last posted anything here. I’ve been meaning to, but never got around to it. But, long story short, good shit happened, bad shit happened. Some other good shit happened. So it goes…
For a while there I was on a writing streak but then, as I often do with this project I’m working on, I stop and ask myself if I’m writing it the right way. Maybe it would work better in third person. No, First person. Maybe more linear storyline. No, go the disordered route. Second guessing my second guesses. So I’ve gone back to the drawing board… or writing board. And am re-planning the whole thing. This time on little cards.
Speaking of writing – The NaNoWriMo starts in less than a month. Will I work on this project? Or another one? Who knows. But whatever the case, I plan on being more prepared this year. I plan on getting some planning done first. Maybe. Also, whatever the case, I plan on totally rocking the 50,000 words this year. You just watch me.
You might’ve noticed that little guy in the corner. That there is a sneak peak. To what? Not telling. But that’s a little snippet of what I’ve been working on the last few days like a zombie with a hard-to-break-open skull in his hands. It’s all looking great and I’m hoping it won’t be too long till I get to show all of you people who care nothing about it. Wink.
Speaking of Zombies… Yesterday this little baby arrived in the mail -

It’s Forrest J Ackerman presents Anthology of the Living Dead. A great book full of awesome zombie-fied short stories. There’s some really good stuff in there so if you haven’t gotten a copy yet, you’re missing out. But never fear, for I is here, you can get a copy from Amazon – Click Here.
There’s something strange about this book though. I opened up to page 163 and found a short story whose title seemed oddly familiar and the Author of which had a very odd name. Here’s a picture of what I’m talking about -

Weird, hey?
It’s almost like it’s my short story in that book…
Oh wait, it is!
Booya!
I actually sat down and read it last night. It’s the first time I’ve looked at the story in over a year and the first time ever I’ve read my work without editing or any such thing, and I have to say I enjoyed it. Is it wrong to laugh out loud (several times) while reading your own short story? It’s not exactly akin to laughing at your own jokes, is it?
Well, in any case I found myself laughing throughout the story. All the things that I worried about not being funny, just being stupid and weak, they worked… for me at least. I hope they do for everyone else to.
Oh… I promised myself I wouldn’t cry. I’m just so proud!!
Wink.
Anyways, get yourself a copy. It’s awesome. I’m off to read the rest of the book soon, it’s all been great so far. Then up next on the To Be Read List is this odd little number –

You might’ve also noticed the picture of yours truly up in the banner. It’s not there because I’m vain or anything, I’m just that pretty. Actually, it was just a bit of practice that turned out much better than expected. And so I’ve taken to putting it up there. A little howdy do.
Anyway that’s it from me, catch ya later.
